THE MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSISTION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMIITED TO THE FOLLOWING:


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
 Plans, coordinates, and implements projects specifically relating to the installation of masonry structures and linings.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  1. Installs masonry units and materials in accordance with accepted masonry practice to a level of high quality and reliability.

  2. Oversees the construction or installation of masonry projects in accordance with applicable drawings, job instructions, and accepted masonry practice.

  3. Develops and follows a project schedule as directed by the Construction Managers or applicable authority.

  4. Utilizes all essential equipment and supplies required to carry out the work scope.

  5. Maintains the bill of materials required for the completion of the work and report same to the Watertown Accounting Department.

  6. Maintains required payroll documents for the completion of the work and report same to the Watertown Accounting Department.

  7. Oversees the implementation of the STEBBINS corporate and client safety programs, including:

    1. Familiarizes himself/herself and peers with potential hazards associated with the work place and adjacent areas.

    2. Instructs peers and subordinates in proper safety procedures for the work scope.

    3. Maintains required safety documents and records for the duration of the project.

  8. Interprets drawings and job instructions and installs the masonry work in accordance with approved drawings or directions from the responsible engineering authority.

  9. Collaborates with other contractors with regards to the masonry project to coordinate activities and to complete the work in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

  10. Maintains routings, material lists, manpower requirements, machinery and equipment requirements, and skill levels required to install the masonry materials in accordance with approved drawings or directives in a timely, high quality fashion.

  11. Develops and maintains the knowledge and skills for the installation of masonry materials including but not limited to:

  • Chemically resistant tile and brick

  • Tile/brick lined structural concrete tanks and chests

  • Gun applied masonry materials

  • Rammed refractory plastics and castable materials

  • Conventional block and architectural brick and tile

  • Maintains knowledge in the installation of scaffolding shoring required for implementation of the masonry project.

  • Provides guidance and instructions to company men, other crafts, and local masons assigned to perform the specialized corrosion resistant masonry installations typical of STEBBINS work scope.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

TRAINING:
Journeyman level in applicable trade (Brick Mason, Mason Tender).

 

EDUCATION:

Ability to complete full journeyman program from approved union affiliation. Education preferred but not required:

  1. High school graduate or GED

 

EXPERIENCE:

Prior construction experience. Minimum three years of field experience.
